Your task this week
Write a normal version and a shorter fallback for one existing plan.
Work through the decision
- Open last week’s record and find an appointment that was feasible. Do not increase it because the calendar says week two.
- Name the activity, usable time and setting for the normal version. Keep the fallback familiar and suitable, with less setup.
- Write the trigger for using the fallback: a shortened break, a closed venue or missing transport. Record which version actually happened.
A realistic example
Editorial example: Sam can usually reach a nearby park after work but sometimes leaves late. The normal plan includes the park journey; the fallback uses a familiar nearby route. Neither version is a punishment or a way to make up a numerical debt. The change solves a travel constraint.
Review before moving on
Did the fallback remove a real barrier? If both versions were impractical, change the opening or setting before adding motivation reminders.
